Stillwater River Clean-up

Canoeists starting out at a past cleanup.Friday, June 7th, 2019 (rain date June 21st)   8:30am - 1:00pm

Joining the cleanup is Free, but preregistration is required! This canoe-based cleanup of the Stillwater State Scenic River , hosted and organized by the Montgomery SWCD, has resulted in tons (literally) of trash being pulled from the stream and its banks over the years. Business and agency partners who work with us to make this event possible include Butler Township, the Cities of Clayton & Englewood, Five Rivers MetroParks, the Montgomery County Solid Waste District, Pizza Factory, Rivers Unlimited, and Smokey River Adventures LLC. The other important partners are the volunteers who canoe the river and pick up the trash!

Call or email Kristen Lauer, Education/Information Specialist, before June 1st with any questions or to reserve your spot! Come prepared by dressing properly for the weather and wearing close-toed, thick soled shoes. Canoes and a celebratory pizza lunch are provided! In the case of inclement weather or water levels, the event may be postponed to a rain date of Friday, June 21st. See the Montgomery SWCD website at www.MontgomerySWCD.org/EEC.html for essential eligibility criteria and rules for this very strenuous fun event!
