River Clean-up: Get Dirty for a Good Cause!

The Stillwater River clean-up in progressFriday, June 15th, 2018 (rain date June 22nd)   8:30am - 1:00pm

Join the 2018 Stillwater River Clean-up to make a difference in your local State Scenic river! This annual cleanup, hosted and organized by the Montgomery Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD), has resulted in tons (literally) of trash being pulled from the stream and its banks over the years. It would not happen without the many volunteers who come out to get wet and dirty for a good cause! Many business and agency partners also work together to make this event possible, including Butler Township, the Cities of Clayton & Englewood, Five Rivers MetroParks, the Montgomery County Solid Waste District, Pizza Factory, Rivers Unlimited, and Smokey River Adventures LLC! Come prepared by dressing properly for the weather and wearing close-toed, thick soled shoes. Canoes and a celebratory pizza lunch are provided!

Preregistration is required for this FREE event. In the case of inclement weather or water levels, the event may be postponed to a rain date of Friday, June 22nd, 2018. Visit the Montgomery SWCD website at www.MontgomerySWCD.org/EEC.html to see essential eligibility criteria and rules for this very strenuous event! Call or email Kristen Lauer, Education/Information Specialist, at LauerK@mcohio.org or 937-854-7645 before June 8th with any questions or to reserve your spot!
