Sycamore Conservation Education and
Demonstration Farm

This is a 200-acre modern working farm located within Sycamore State Park on Lutheran Church Road between Wolf Creek and Post Town Roads west of Trotwood.  Natural resources include a large constructed wetland, a 15-acre woodland, a garden program (in conjunction with Montgomery County Jail), and cropping in corn, beans, and hay.  Also, a number of erosion control structures are in place, including a block chute, waterways, a waterway diversion, a WASCOB, and an aluminum toe wall.

Although the District has no currently established education programs for schools or other groups, our long-range plan does include writing proposals to fund the construction of an education shelter house, and development of woodland, wetland, and agriculture conservation education programs.
