Montgomery SWCD Newsletter
The Conservation Advocate is published in January, March,
August, and November. The January issue includes the spring Plant
Sale order form. Advertisers are being solicited as of March 2007,
at $25 per issue. If you are interested in being on the mailing
list, please contact Cheryl at the office, 854-7645. You may also
request to receive the newsletter by email; the current and past
newsletters may be viewed from links on the home page of this web site.

Press Releases
Announcements for the District as well as our for our partnering
conservation organizations, are published monthly in eight local weekly
newspapers.
Displays
The District maintains a display board semi-permanently at the Future
Energy and Conservation Center,10404 W. National Rd. Brookville.
It is also at the Montgomery County fair each Labor Day weekend, and
otherwise available for other public events upon request.
Soil and Water Stewardship
Week
Stewardship week is observed the
last week of April each year.
For 52 years, the National Association
of Conservation Districts has promoted Soil and Water Stewardship Week
each spring. Promotional materials are offered at no cost to you,
courtesy of Montgomery Soil and Water Conservation District. The purpose
of this outreach event for community groups, educators, and church
leaders is to remind us that each person has the power to conserve
natural resources and improve the world through awareness and individual
choices. The District places a bulk order by the first week of
March each year, contact the office for more information.

Various slide shows can be
scheduled that address soil and water ecosystems and conservation
issues. Contact District Education Specialist to make
arrangements.
