2002 Five Rivers Cleanup
Celebrate Earh Day by participating in the Fiver Rivers Cleanup.  Then, head over to Island MetroPark for an afternoon of earth-friendly activities, entertainment and a free thank-you lunch.  To register, call 275-7275.  Souvenir T-shirts available to participants registered by April 5th. 

Tree Packing for Annual Seedling Sale.  Help us out here at the District the week of April 15th, 2002.  We receive almost 12,000 bare root seedlings that need to be repacked for sale to the public. Call 854-7645 for more information.

The Great American Cleanup.  April 1st through May 31st.  Coordinated by The Montgomery County Solid Waste District.  Participants can choose to clean up neighborhoods, vacant lots, shopping areas, roadways, and numerous other areas.  Call 225-4999 or visit www.mcswd.org for more information.

Wolf Creek Watershed Project.  This multi-agency initiative is just getting off the ground in Spring 2002.  We are looking for volunteer groups in the fall to commit to long term water quality monitoring.  Training will be provided.  Another fall project will be installation of signage designating the boundaries of the Wolf Creek drainage basin (watershed).  Follow up in September by contacting our office (854-7645), if your group is interested.
