District Supervisors

Any resident of Montgomery County is eligible to be elected to the Montgomery SWCD Board of Supervisors.  Supervisors are not paid, and each member of the Board serves a three year term.  The terms of the five members are staggered; an election is held every year at the annual District meeting in September.

The duties of a supervisor are many and varied.  But the reward is in the satisfaction of making a valuable contribution to the future welfare of your district, state, and nation.  Generally, the Board of Supervisors sets policy for the District, reviews long range and annual plans of work, and delegates to employees certain appropriate responsibilities.  They are also responsible for overseeing the District's coordination of activities with all other agencies involved with natural resource conservation and development.
