The Montgomery Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) connects the rural and urban residents, businesses and governments of Montgomery County with education, best management practices, and technical leadership on water quality, water management, conservation, and wildlife habitat.
We offer a variety of services and guidance to Montgomery County residents, local governments, buisnesses, and agencies.
DRAINAGE
The Montgomery SWCD assists landowners with surface water drainage issues. Assistance may include advice, providing edcuational materials, or working with a group of landowners on a group drainage project.
FARMLAND PRESERVATION
The Montgomery SWCD is proud to be a Local Sponsor for Ohio Dept. of Agriculture, Local Agricultural Easement Purchase Program (LAEPP). Participants recieve funding for a voluntary agricultural easement on their property.
PONDS
The Montgomery SWCD can help homeowners evaluate a property for a potential pond site and assist with pond design. We do not manage ponds, but offer a list of local vendors to help with construction, management supplies and services.
MAPS
The Montgomery SWCD has maps and aeiral photographs available at our office including Wetland, Ground Water Resources (Well Yields), and Topographical Maps. Copies can be made free of charge during normal buisness hours.
